fall wreath

On one of my weekly trips to Hobby Lobby, or as my hubby likes to call it... the money pit, I noticed all these beautiful wreaths hanging on the wall. Then I noticed the price tag. WOW! Even at 40% off they were still to expensive. Then I remembered that I had a stick wreath at home just sitting in the closet. I took a minute to decide whether I wanted to attempt a wreath or not and in the end I decided what do I have to lose. So I bought a few things and made my very first Fall wreath.

Not too shabby eh?

dreaming of a new house and the big 500

Firstly I want to say...

**** Happy 500th post to Me! ****

Continuing on... here recently we have been talking about selling our house and getting something bigger.

So naturally, I was on my Trulia app looking all over for house inspiration. Not that it does me any good. What I can find in other places is not what I can find here at home, and even if I could everything around here is way overpriced right now. I did find a few houses that I love, but they are in different states and I seriously doubt that I am going to talk my husband into moving away from his job.

That’s okay tho :) A girl can dream can’t she?

I love this first house. I have always wanted a house that looks like this. Maybe it’s the front porch or the shutters. Whatever it is I love it!

This house would be perfect. It sits on 16 acres and has large windows with great views and actual seasons. Oh ya, it’s in VERMONT! But seriously, how wonderful would it be to watch those leaves change in the Fall or your kids squeal with excitement because it’s snowing on Christmas. My poor boys barely know what snow is. Thanks a lot Texas!

Now here is something I can do. Granted, my kitchen looks nothing like this but I could paint my cabinets and change my countertops. I love the black cabinets! Some would disagree but I don’t care. I still love them :) But wait...

... they did paint where the sink is and the bar white to balance it. That makes it that makes it even better! Now I just have to convince my hubby to let me paint my kitchen cabinets black before we try and sell our house.

Hey! It could happen :) I do have to live here until then ya know.

fall mantle

This past week I have been getting my house ready for my favorite season... Fall!

it is so much fun to get out all the pumpkins and leaves to spread around the house. I honestly don’t think that I have enough, but you know how that goes :)

This last week I went and bought some new frames for my mantle since we recently moved out TV. I personally like this setup way better than when we had the TV up there. But that is a whole nother post which is coming soon!

Here are some pictures of our Fall mantle this year!

And of course I had to throw in some antlers :)

gathering leaves

This morning Tyler and I went outside to gather leaves for school.

I thought it was a perfect time to grab the camera and take some pictures.

I am such a proud mama right now!

Last night my sweet Jacob asked Jesus into his heart.

I had been in bed sick all day and Michael was taking care of the boys and getting them read for bed. As Jake was sitting there he asked how you become saved. Michael asked him a ton of questions and tried steering him away from it because he wanted to make sure he was really ready. After they finished talking Jake started crying and told his daddy that he wanted to go to heaven. That he wanted Jesus in his heart.

Praise the Lord!

I am excited that my baby made this choice on his own and that we get to enjoy this journey with him.

it’s fall y’all

*happy dance*

I am so excited!

It is time to crack out all that Fall d├ęcor and start making the house all cozy.
Sadly, the weather may be warm for a while longer but that doesn’t mean I can’t get a head start :)

Here is some Fall inspiration to get you excited too!

filling my bag fast

I have been slowly adding equipment to my super awesome camera bag and this week I am super excited to get to add two new fun pieces.

The first is my Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens...
I am taking school photos for Tyler’s school and needed s good lens for headshots. After a lot of research and going back and forth I chose this one.
So far I am super happy with it and can’t wait for picture day!

Then there is my newest new piece...
It is the Canon 430EX II.
The whole external flash thing is new territory for me so I am just now getting used to it and learning all that it does, but I have to say so far I am really liking it!

comfy fall/winter clothes

Since I am super busy today and want to blog about something I let the cooler weather we have been having inspire me :)

There is just something about colder weather and comfy clothes don’t ya think?

This sweater looks really comfy and really warm.
And you can dress it up or down. Great find at Cabelas!

I really like this sweater.
Maybe it’s the color, but I really would love to lounge around or go grocery shopping in this one!
Another great find at Cabelas.

I can’t have too many hoodies!
They are my go to item when it’s cold outside.

Comfy sweatpants are a MUST!
You can get these at Maurice's for $29.99

I LOVE Bearpaw boots!
I need another pair for this winter.

And lastly, I would really like to get me a pair of Frye Campus Boots.
But I am not sure if I want to spend that much $$ on them or not.
