erin condren life planner

Eeeeeeeeeeeee!

Yesterday I received my Erin Condren Life Planner.

I can’t wait to start using it!

She has such an amazing deal going on. The planners are marked down from $60 to $36. The only thing is it starts in April 2012 and only goes until December of 2012. But that is fine by me. It gives me a chance to use it for the rest of the year and then just order another one around Christmas time :)

And even though I have only had it a day...

I am in love with my new planner!

oh happy day!

SQUEEEEEEEEEEL!

For the last 6 months every time I have gone into the kitchen do wash dishes I have had to look at my broken, won’t work if my life depended on it dishwasher. Hand washing it was. And I have to say it was getting pretty old. It had gone beyond just wanting a new dishwasher, I needed a new dishwasher!

After countless hours searching, I finally found the perfect one. And the best part… she was was on sale! After patiently waiting for was seemed like forever {okay it was only four days}, she was delivered and my sweet hubby installed her last night for me. So far I have nothing but good things to say. She is a dream!

{Insert happy dance here}

{This is the Whirlpool Gold Energy Star Dishwasher! It was beautiful and on sale!!! Normally $749.99 this beauty was on sale for $466.68 plus a 10% off online coupon from retailmenot.com. For a total sale price of $420! Now I am doing my happy dance :)}

The boys on the other hand were more excited about the box she came in. I don’t blame them. I don’t think I have ever met a kid excited about doing the dishes.

Makeshift Mudroom

After school started I had a problem. Not a huge one, but one that needing a solution.

That problem was my kids walking in the door after school and throwing their backpacks and lunch boxes on the floor. Not only did they get dog hair all over them, they were kinda in the way.

I needed a place to hang backpacks or lunchboxes, then it hit me! A mudroom would be perfect! Only problem was I do not have a mudroom and the lack of space for one creates and even bigger problem.

Hobby Lobby to the rescue!

And this was what I came up with…

KitchenBench

I want to make cute little tags for these baskets, I just have not figured out what to put in them yet…

KitchenBench2

I have to say that I absolutly love it!

KitchenBench3

I did move it to another wall {which I wish I would have taken a before and after of because it is a HUGE difference}. And I changed purses… again.

A Quick Stop…

Today we left for a long weekend on Oklahoma with Michael’s family. It is about an 8 hour drive that we usually make in the middle of the night, but not this time! We left this morning so I was able to see all the beautiful things that I always miss. And one of those beautiful things happened to be an antique thrift store in some tiny town along the way.

Here are a few of my favorite things from the store…

Black Friday

black-fridayPhoto courtesy of Google

With Thanksgiving fast approaching that can only mean one thing… SHOPPING! Black Friday is one of my favorite times of the year. Not only do I get to shop, but I get to shop and save money! If you are a big Black Friday shopper and have not yet checked out Black Friday dot Net … I would highly recommend it. They already have a ton of ads posted. You can even shop online if that is what you prefer.

I plan my shopping trip weeks in advance and make sure that I have everything ready to go so I can be out the door by 3am. There is also no sleeping and LOTS of coffee involved as well. Oh how I love Black Friday *sigh* I even think I am going to have my dear sweet hubby go this year to be the bag carrier, that is the hardest part.

Do you Black Friday shop or do you prefer to avoid the crowd?

Handbag Heaven

This is so unlike me and I am scaring myself just a little bit but I have found the perfect handbag! I know you are sitting there saying ya right! I swear I’m not crazy :)

Rewind to when I was in Oklahoma City back in August I went to TJ Maxx to see if I could find a new purse. When I walk in the first thing I noticed were these designer handbags sitting on table in front of all the other ones. So, being curious me I walked over and started looking. I immediately saw $199 and knew that it was out of my price range. And the fact that they normally go for $400 shocked me even more! There were a bunch of black ones there and a dark green one, but underneath them all was this on tan colored one. It was big with a red interior and had two straps for your shoulder and a long strap so you could use it as a cross body… needless to say I was in love! But I still couldn’t afford it. i decided I would think about it while I shopped so I grabbed it up and put it on using the long cross body strap and it was so nice to have free hands… but the more I thought about it the more I knew Michael would kill me!! So I reluctantly put the bag back without looking at a designer or anything.

Fast forward through August, September and the beginning of this month. I have searched countless hours on eBay trying to find the handbag that got away. Until last night! I googled ‘brown cross body bag tj maxx $199’ and WHAM! there is was!

The designer is Jenrigo from Italy and it is made of authentic snake skin. I have never heard of the designer but there are several of them on eBay and boy those things are not cheap. I however did find the one I want and now just have to convince myself to buy it since Michael gave me the green light. I really really want this purse, now I just have to somehow justify the money…I mean it is a steal compared to $400 right?

NEW CAMERA!!!!

After longing for a new camera with more features than I need, I am happy to say that I am the proud owner of the Canon Rebel T2i. I have researched a lot of cameras and was actually going to buy the cheaper model, the Canon Rebel XS, but lucky me stumbled across a super deal at Target the other day.

Michael and I were out looking for light fixtures and I just wanted to stop in and see what kind of camera deals they had. I was looking at the T1i, which was on sale for $699.99, when she pulled out a box that said T2i. I didn't see it out on display and when she went to check the price for me it came back not found. Come to find out after some digging they had recieved 2 of them by mistake! They were an on-line only product that mistakenly got sent to the store. They sent them to price them for me and they came back with a sticker that said $629.99!!!

Well I thought nothing of it until I started researching it on-line and discovered they were going for $899.99. I then talked it over with Michael and he told me to go buy it!!!! I swear I am as giddy as a schoolgirl! I have to say that I am amazed at all this camera can do.

P.S. I love you Michael and THANK YOU!!!!

New Patio Furniture

A few weeks ago I was talking to my mom about me wanting some patio furniture for my backyard and she told me about this fabulous deal that Home Depot had. It was a 5 piece patio furniture set for $99 while supplies last. I immedeatly turned my car around and drove straight to Home Depot. I figured at 10am they shouldnt all be gone, but I didn't want to chance it.

When I got there I walked in they only had 4 left! But they could only find 1 of them and I got it!!! I was so excited. I paid a little over $107 with tax and all and took my new patio furniture home. When I got there I could not get the box out of the car so I had to put it together in the driveway in the 102* heat... but it was worth it in the end. The picture isn't the greatest and it is really dirty but I had to share with all of you :)

Where should I put my keys?!?

I was reading Trina's blog Fabulously Frugalicious and saw that she had blogged about these fabulous key fobs from Sew Much Detail on Etsy so I thought that I would stop by and check it out. After browsing all of the wonderful designs I decided on the one below...

I wanted to buy a ton of them (and probably will now I know where to go) and decided on this design because it is simple and not too busy. I can't wait to get it in!!!

Rainy Weather and Garage Sale Finds

Here are my boys...ready for a morning of garage saling. As you can see Jacob already had on his headphones so he could watch Madagascar 2.

Here is what the weather was like this morning. The temp was 33* with a windchill of 23*.

I found this bowl set at an estate sale for a whopping $5. I thought it would be great for a summer fruit salad or the bowls could be used for summer sorbet...

I found this old wooden birdcage at the same estate sale for $5. I thought it would look great in my garden with some flowers in it.

I found this fireplace tool set (the poker is hidden in the back) , log holder and matches at a garage sale...all for $5! I was so excited because I wanted a black set but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. It is really nice...just needs to be cleaned up.

What girl doesn't love flowers?!?

I had to run by Albertson's today for some red radicchio that they did not have at HEB. Well I always look at the flowers because they are always so pretty...but I never get them because I have always hated them. But I have changed over the years and now love them!

As I was walking to the checkout I noticed a basket full of fresh flowers. I did not see a prce tag so I asked one of the cashiers if she knew if they were on sale or not. They told me the price should be on there. So I picked them up again and looked a little harder. I was shocked when I saw the price tag..... .99 cents!!!!!! I can not imagine what the regular price was....but wow! I was so happy to have found them for so cheap. I was so happy I ended up buying 2.

Oh ya, the red radicchio was marked $5.99 and the guy at the counter said he didn't want to look up the number so put in the cabbage number and it came out to .35 cents! WooHoo!!

When I got in the car I called my husband and thanked him for the flowers and was happy to tell him that they were super cheap. Now I have roses for our dinner on thursday.

Raining trash cans

Today Michael wanted to go to Home Depot after church so he could look at lawn equipment. I figured I could look at a few things while I was there so off we went. My friend has one of those big steel trash cans and it broke so I have been looking for one on sale to get her b/c all of the ones she has found were around $100. While looking at all the trash cans on the isle I looked up and noticed two steel 40L trash cans with a price of $6.97 on them!

After a talk with the customer service lady and the manager I got both trash cans for $6.97 each. Normal price for them was $74.97. I saved over $140 on both of them. I was so excited that I found such a great deal. So Courtney got a belated Valentine's gift from me.
