pool time!

A few weeks ago I decided to get a pool.

Not like in years past where we have gotten those little rinky-dink plastic or blow up pools. You know the ones, they don't last very long with two boys and a lab. So this summer I thought the bigger the better!

After some searching and a really good sale at Academy I found this beast...

Okay, it's not a beast per say, but it is big enough to lounge in and let the kids get all wild and crazy. And it saves us from spending a ton of money at the city pool!

I even spruced it up a bit with paving stones and rubber mulch!
Next will be adding some signs on the fence and lights to my porch :)

So this summer I am planning on BBQ'ing a lot with friends and teaching the boys how to swim (finally!)

What are your summer plans?

Lazy Pool Days

The last couple of days we have been hanging out at the pool with various people. It has been sooo nice to get out of the house and have adult conversation. And we even got some storms!!!

Here are a few pictures from our day at the pool today…

Wonderful Weekend

What a glorious weekend!

I hope that all you mothers had a blessed Mother’s Day!

Now, I know, I am an awful person. I left my camera bag at home today. I feel horrible. So the boys and I are going to take pics together at the park later this week. I need some good ones. And I am going to make my sweet hubby take some too!

Oh my church was wonderful today. I needed to hear the message today. Have you ever felt like there is no one else in the church and there is a huge spotlight on you as he speaks, well that was me today. It really helped me see things in a different way. I am trying to be the Godly mother my children need and deserve, but for some reason I feel like I am falling short.

I thought I would share a few pics I took over the weekend…

On Friday the storm clouds started moving in and they looked so beautiful, but sadly they never brought any rain. It just like mother nature to play tricks on us. Sigh.

Saturday we had Jake’s swim lessons. He is doing so much better than he was in the beginning. He is growing up so fast. Soon he will be a little Michael Phelps.

While we waited I snapped a couple of pics of Tyler. He is such a little ham. And I you got to love the whole picking the nose thing! Boys will be boys.

Tyler asked for my sunglasses because the sun was in his eyes.

My poor baby looks like he needs to eat a cheeseburger! And I know I may sound like a broken record, but I am just so proud of him and how well he is doing. Just a few short weeks ago he would barely get in the water.

Swimming and Dinner with Family

Today we decided it would be a good day to go to the pool since it was only going to be 94*... which is a lot better than the 104* it usually is. It was a special trip to the pool becuase Michael got to go with us. The boys really enjoyed having their daddy there. We even taught Jacob how to doggie paddle (with life jacket of course). After the pool we went home for a quick nap and then off yo our cousins house for a nice steak dinner.

Here is Michael... I think he needs a tan.lol.

He stood there for over 30 minutes catching Tyler as he went down the slide.

And Jacob too...

Got a farmers tan going on...

Here's me soakin up the sun.
I have to say that my eating healthier and exercise is paying off!!!

103* and a Bee Sting

We went back to the pool with our cousins on Wednesday. Honestly, for the life of me I can't figure out why... it was 103* outside and the sun was just brutal. It wasn't so bad underneath the shaded umbrella, but we had to move after the bees started swarming and stung Jacob. It was awful! But he soon forgot about his sting and went about his swimming. We had a balst, but in the end we were all exhausted from the heat and Tyler was beet red with a sunburn despite his SPF 50 sunblock and as I write this my stomach is still a little red. And the funny part is we plan on going back this weekend. Here are a few pics from our swim playdate... Enjoy!

Getting the boys ready to jump in the pool.

Tyler waiting his turn.

The pool

The kids attacked Joe!

Jacob's bee sting... it barely left a mark!

Back to all the fun after getting checked out by the staff.

Tyler was being a big boy and going up the slide himself...

Even puching other people out of the way...

He loved being at the top...

And he's ready for pushoff...

Weeee! And down he went. And we did that for 45 minutes!

The weather was a lot nicer than last time... but I was hopin' for clouds. It was 103* when we left and was scorching.

All tuckered out after a long day.

Jacob had to watch a movie when we got in the car. Then we headed to stars for a refreshing drink! Can't wait for another swim playdate!!!
