Hey Boo Boo!

Saturday night was a long overdue family night. We had to decide between miniature golf and a movie. Through unanimous vote we decided on a movie. We let the boys watch some previews on the computer and pick which one they wanted to go see. After a few minutes of arguing, they decided on Yogi Bear in 3D.

It was the boys first movie in a theater AND mine and Michael’s first 3D movie! We had a blast!

We had a blast! There will defiantly be way more family nights in the future.

Photo Friday Week 8: Spirit

blogbutton

I can’t believe it’s Photo Friday again over at Trina’s Blog! I know that this is not what you would typically think of when you hear the word spirit, but to me it screams SPIRIT! This is from Tyler’s hospital stay this last weekend. Even after waiting 6 hours in the ER, sitting in the same bed without being able to get up and run around and an IV, he still managed to have a smile on his face!

I am Abundantly Blessed!

After Friday’s stay in the hospital with Tyler, I got to thinking that sometimes I take for granted how blessed my life is. Things could have easily been worse than what they were, but by God’s grace he was okay. I find myself getting caught up in all the things that I think are wrong in my life, when in reality I should be focusing more on the wonderful gifts in my life.

I have two handsome, healthy boys that are the most wonderful gifts God has given me and a husband who works his fingers to the bone so I don’t have to and puts up with me, even at my worst. When I go to complain about him working late, I stop myself because I know that he is not doing it to punish us, he does it because he loves us and wants to provide for us the best way he knows how. I have the best husband and little monsters in the world!

I also want my children to see me as a strong, Christian woman who loves God with all her heart. I am not going to lie, I have not been the best at that. I have struggled with that a little, okay a lot, because I was afraid people would not like me. I was even afraid that my family would judge me. But not anymore! I am going to be the fearless, God loving woman that I know I can and need to be! And I defiantly don’t want my kids to be afraid to let people know that they love God with all their hearts.

‘Listen, my son, and be wise,
and keep your heart on the right path.’

Proverbs 23:19

Scare of my Life!

Friday morning I had the scare of my life. My youngest son, Tyler, would not stay awake and was not acting like himself. I called the pediatrician and I took him in immediately. He still would not stay awake and was pretty much unresponsive. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital. After ruling everything else out they determined that his blood glucose levels were 46! In a child his age they should be somewhere between 100-200 mg/dL. So they were way below normal. At the hospital we got some orange juice in him and he perked back up. They decided they wanted to keep him overnight for observation to make sure it didn’t happen again. We were discharged the next afternoon and he seems to be doing great! We have to check a his glucose levels and take him in to get blood drawn, but so far so good. He will also get a bedtime snack and juice with some peanut butter crackers as we take Jacob to school.

This was a horrifying experience and it really puts things into perspective! God gave me these beautiful boys and I am going to change a bunch of things from what we eat to spending more time with my kids. Here are a few pictures of Tyler’s stay at the hospital…

Here we are in the ER waiting for a room. He got these sticker for being a good boy in x-ray…

Photo Friday Week 7 : Romance

*Sorry I’m a little late. We had an emergency this morning. My youngest was taken to the hospital by ambulance and was unresponsive. His blood sugar was really low. They now have it back up and he is doing much better!*

It’s Photo Friday again over at Trina’s blog. I know I mention this every week, but I absolutely love participating in this. I like that it makes me think outside the box and come up with creative photos. This week with the theme being Romance I wanted to do something fun with mine and Michael’s wedding rings. See, when we got married Michael did not want a ring. Wearing one posed a huge risk. If his ring were to get caught in a machine it could easily rip his finger off. And that’s not a risk we wanted to take. But this last year, and boy was it a rough year, I decided to buy Michael a ring that would break before it could take his finger off. And I found the one below. It is ceramic and carbon fiber. He doesn’t wear it that often, but it’s nice for him to have one ‘just in case’. Plus, I am kind of hoping to renew our vows sometime in the near future… we shall see…

Fun at the Park!

Today was a beautiful day! It reached 76* and there was a cool north wind that made it heavenly outside. So today I decided that I would take the boys to the park so they could run around and so Jacob could play with his HUGE remote control car. We packed a lunch and everything… okay I’ll be honest, I bought the kids a lunchable of their choice and I had a green dragon roll, you know the sushi kind. I know it is not your typical picnic food, but it was o so good!

Here are a few pictures of the boys from our day at the park:

Siesta Scripture Memory Team: Verse 4 and More!

How was your weekend? Did everyone have a wonderful Valentines Day?! My weekend was great. We are really enjoying our new church and my Valentines day was filled with love. The best part is I got to spend it with my 3 most favorite boys in the whole world!

And I am defiantly excited that it is Siesta time again over at the LPM Blog with Beth! I don’t know if any of you read my verses every other week or not, but I defiantly love posting them and spreading the word of God. Here is my verse:

‘Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.’

Ecclesiastes 4:12

And since I have you here… Saturday I started a new online bible study. It is Beth Moore’s Believing God. I am only a couple of days in and I absolutely LOVE IT! It is a 10 week study and you can either purchase the workbook {I bought mine at Mardel} or download and print your own pages each week. You start off each week off watching an online video of Beth. During the video you will fill in the blanks on your viewer guide. Then over the next 5 days you will have homework every night that leads into the next session. And I say homework, but it is not really homework. I hated doing homework, and I do not hate doing this! Here is a picture of the book:

Back from Hiatus and Potty Training Victory!

I’m back!! It has been an exhausting couple of weeks. On top of everyone being sick around here we have had some pretty cold weather. so cold that we have been stuck in the house off and on, I decided to start potty training my dear sweet Tyler. Now, I’m not going to lie… it was not the easiest thing I have done. He kept wetting his underwear, so I made him strip down to none. And well… IT WORKED! It only took a couple of hours and now he goes on his own and even wears underwear when we go places!!! Yay!!! I’m so proud of him.

{Sorry the picture is so fuzzy, I took it with my iPhone and I could not get him to stay still long enough for a good one}

Now on to the crazy weather round here. Here are a few pictures from the snow days we had last week

Siesta Scripture Memory Team: Verse 3!

It’s time for the 3rd verse of 2011! I can’t tell you enough how much I enjoy doing this every couple of weeks. I have been thinking a lot about the things I need to be doing to help my relationship with God grow. It goes beyond just reading my bible everyday, but I need to start there. I need a time, either before the kids get up or after they go to bed, that is just time for me to spend time with God.

But this week I am working on trying to be more patient with my husband and children. So I wanted a verse that would fit into that. Sometimes I am not a patient person at all!

You can also read all the other verses over at Beth’s blog. I love reading all the wonderful verses that everyone has submitted.

“A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.”
Proverbs 15:18 NIV
