yummy blueberry pancakes
This morning I had a craving for blueberry pancakes... so out of bed and into the kitchen I went.
Lately I have been wanting to cook more at home, so I thought that this was a perfect time to get started. Plus, the boys were eager to have ‘hiccup berry’ pancakes.
Delicious!
Hope you all have a blessed Saturday

gone fishin’
This last weekend we made a quick trip to visit my in laws and in Oklahoma. And when I say quick trip I mean 8 hours in the car with two kids and NO DVD player! Thankfully they slept most of the way there and I got to talk to my husband about the important stuff because he was trapped :)
The whole point of the trip was to go and pick up my new to me bedroom furniture! I’m so excited and can’t wait to get it all set up and show you guys :)
For now here are some pics from when we took the boys fishing for the first time...
Jacob caught his very first fish!

indecisiveness
When it comes to my kitchen I have been completely indecisive on what I want to do with it.
I’m trying to get away from the darker colors and lighten things up a bit. But to be honest, I am not sure how to do that. Everything has always been black or brown or different shades of black and brown. And I am sick of it! I want a light and bright house.
Here is my kitchen/dining room in it’s semi-current state. The walls are called ‘fabulous red’. The microwave is not there anymore, but it still pretty much looks the same.
I originally wanted to paint stripes along the entire wall...
... then I found this picture on The Lettered Cottage. Yes, they wall is black, but it is a fun chalkboard black. Mike likes it and so do the boys. I think that they just want to draw on the walls and not get in trouble :)
I also love the way this kitchen. Yes, I know that mine does not look anything like this... and the cabinets are black (see I can’t escape it!) but I love the cabinets and how bright they are with the white walls. I think my kitchen has enough natural light that I could pull off the dark cabinets.
By the time this is all over I swear I am going to drive my husband crazy :)

shutters anyone?
I have been wanting to put up shutters at my house.
Some that will match my door.
My turquoise door!
I just not sure that shutters will work on my house... *sigh*
In the spirit of things, I thought you would enjoy these wonderful turquoise shutters...

r.i.p keurig
Yesterday my favorite appliance broke.
We had been friends for almost two years.
They were two wonderful years.
I remember the many cups full of coffee and the cold nights with yummy hot chocolate.
But... all good things must come to an end to make way for newer models.

easter weekend
Hope you all had an incredibly blessed Easter weekend!
We started off our weekend by taking a day trip to see some relatives on Michael’s side of the family that we don’t get to see very often. There were aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents of all sorts. The boys had a blast and it was wonderful to see everyone.
His aunt and uncle live outside the city and have this amazing front porch swing that is perfect for sitting and just enjoying all the things that God has made.
On our way there we were stuck on the highway for about 20 minutes while the police cleared the scene of a rollover accident. So while we were stopped I took some pictures of the pretty weeds on the side of the road.
Once we got there the boys went straight to the sunroom to play darts with their cousins.
There were Easter eggs hidden everywhere!
And for some they would be lucky enough to find the ones with money in them :)
I fell in love with this bird house hanging from one of the trees in the backyard.
One of the eggs that was filled with money.
Time to hunt eggs!!!
The twins!
Yes, my husband caught a baby lamb for me just so I could hold it :)
Is that love or what?
Now I have decided that we are going to have sheep when we move to the country... and I can NEVER eat lamb chops again!
Tyler thought we needed a pet lamb too :)
The joys of my life!
We were ready to head home when this bad severe line of storms developed. With these storms there were three tornadoes that touched down and LOTS of rain.
Thank you Jesus for the rain!
I wish I would have been able to get a family picture on Easter Sunday,
but these are good enough for me:)

happy easter
Happy Easter!
I hope everyone has had a blessed Easter Sunday.
Our day is going to be a relaxing day at home as a family. I hope to teach the boys that Easter is about Jesus, not plastic eggs filled with candy :)
I will post pics of our festivities tomorrow, but for now I wanted to post a couple of pics of the boys taken back on Easter 2009. I can’t believe how grown up they are now. It makes me so sad that my boys are getting so big. Can’t they stay this small forever?
Here is Jacob. Shirtless and huntin’ eggs.
Look at how small Tyler is! Oh my gosh! Look at those cute little chubby legs. Haha! It looks like my boys are sharing one outfit!
This was the famous Easter storm that spawned a tornado that touched down about a mile from my house. Boy do I miss storms like those... okay, maybe just the rain :)
